Step 1

MAYFLOWER LINEAGE MATCH

Complete the Mayflower Lineage Match

Fee: $100
Full rebate after acceptance as a member

The MLM program will verify whether your proposed lineage aligns with documented Mayflower Society lines.

This takes approximately eight weeks.

Once you receive positive results from MLM, you may start the application process to become a member of the Mayflower Society through the New York state society.

You will receive a full rebate of the MLM fee after you complete Step 2 and are accepted as a member of the Mayflower Society.

Please note: Found matches from the Mayflower Lineage Match is NOT an automatic acceptance, nor guarantees acceptance. All lines are thoroughly reviewed by the General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD). Final approval and acceptance lies with the GSMD.

Step 2

APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP

Submit your Preliminary Application here

Fee: $150
Nonrefundable. This fee includes the cost of processing the application and a mandatory fee to the national Mayflower Society.

Once you receive the MLM results, you may submit the preliminary membership application.

After submission, you will be matched with a volunteer co-historian who will assist with filling out the full application and assemble a list of original documents needed.

Each generation needs original documentation to provide proof of birth, marriage, and death for the line carrier and the spouse. You may discuss this with the co-historian after submitting the preliminary application, but the co-historian cannot complete extensive genealogical research on behalf of the applicant.

You will have one year to complete the application. If not completed after one year, you will need to apply again.

Once all original documentation has been assembled, the completed application will be sent to the Mayflower Society for verification and approval.

Time from submission to approval is approximately 5 months.
